Question
Ok so the back story on my car is that an ex boyfriend took out the factory radio and installed a JVC cd player. He somehow manages to hook it up that the cdplayer would only be on when the headlights were on, and all the chiming and dimming lights stopped. Well that was about 3 years ago. The cd got stuck so i decided to install a backup cd player(an Alpine) i had. Well, long story short, i had the wrong wiring harness, and took it to a local audio store to have them fix it. I just learned today that I need the chiming interface(spelling correct?) for it to work correctly. The computer basically ran throught the radio, which I didnt know. My boyfriend took out the old to install the new cdplayer, but the interior lights were giving him problems. So I got the interface and the cd player installed tonight at the local store. But after completing this, the dash lights still are not on, at all, no dimming or nothing. The employee said it is due to a blown fuse, but after researching this online, I cant find anything like it. Is it the wiring of the cdplayer or truely a fuse? I dont know anything about cars/audio systems.  I'm tired of one problem after another! Dont anyone know what they are doing?? Please Help!!!  Thanks for your time!!

Answer
the problem was with the first installation and not using the correct module this is expensive about $100.00 make sure they use the correct unit
also consider your self lucky  that the car is still running and the air bags didn't open on you

also with the correct module all your warnings will work and your gas gauge is not going to be crazy anymore

yes there are 2 fuses for the lights, but they are also control by the BCM   check the fuse box  one is inside the dash the other in the engine compartment if ok unplug the battery for 30 minutes

again you need to have the correct module
