Dear Wayne,
I saw the answer you gave to a previous question: Protect message coming from Sony receiver. I hope you can help me now. Our audio system was working fine before we got Verizon Fios as our TV provider. Still is working ok only for TV but when we use the DVD player we get the protect message and then the Sony audio box disconnects by itself.
Do you think it is something to do with the Fios TV box?

What exactly changed with the connections to the receiver when you got the Fios box? Are you only running audio into the receiver, or both audio and video? What kind of connections are you using - rca interconnects, HDMI, optical cables, etc? What are your exact components Make and model #), and how are they connected?

I'll need more specific information before I can advise, as I am not familiar with Fios (not available in my area as of yet).
