Question
Hi.  i just got 2-yamaha 15" with large horn speakers. i had a older pioneer sx1250 receiver with 3 speaker plug in,s and i also have a jbl 18" powered (500 watt) woofer. i need to know how to hook it all up and is my amp. have enough power to run it. also dont want to hurt my sub.  thanks, Dan

Answer
Before you hook up the speakers, you'll want to see if the speaker impedance matches your amplifier output impedance. If they do, you should be fine.

The powered sub, however, requires a line level signal only. DO NOT feed a speaker level signal into it or you will damage the amplifier. Many receivers have a dedicated subwoofer output - usually a single RCA jack. USE THIS ONLY.
