Question
QUESTION: I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer with the JBL premium sound system and radio head F77F-18c852-BA.  I have a Motorola IHF1000 and wish to tap into the speakers and mute the radio with an incoming call.

Is there a harness that will do this?  Do I need to bypass the amp with the IHF1000 to use the speakers and if so, how do I mute the subwoofer?

If it helps the IHF1000 has the Z03 harness.

Finally, I have used Peripheral products to install other IHF1000'S with good success, however never in a premium sound system. Is it possible to modify a MSS and the PPH1770 to work with this setup?

Thanks

ANSWER: yes it will work using the green relay box but you need the harness from the Lincoln DSP JBL or the harness from the ford taurus
they will plug in your vehicle amplifier rcu tuner that is on the right side near the sub woofer
mute will work from the same harness good luck

QUESTION: My apologies, but I should have included this information in the first question.  Does it make a difference if there is a CD changer in the console (OEM installation) and that there is no mute button on the radio?

ANSWER: no difference, mute will work but the pause cd is not going to work

QUESTION: I have the MSS.  Do you know the part number of the harness or is it just the OEM cable for the '97 Lincoln or Tarus?  Am I replacing the cable in the Mountaineer?  Do I need any special "T" harness or will this be it?

Thanks.

Answer
I don't remember the part number but the cable i order for the explorer Mountaineer didn't work and there was no way to make it fit
that is when i notice of the amplifier rcu tuner in the back  just like for taurus and that is what i ask for
taurus cable

that plug into the mss and work perfect
