Question
Hi, the 6pack cds go in and run through all but won't play any, says no disk. Can you help?

Answer
This can be an of the following:

ONE:  Dead or weak laser diode preventing any digital pickup from the disc.

TWO:  Optical pickup assembly badly out of alignment and focus also  preventing the pickup of the digital signal. Could even be the lens has fallen out of the pickup mechanism.

THREE: The servo mechanism inside the player is defective.

FOUR:  Broken motor or disc handling mechanism.

It must be looked at and analyzed by someone who can diagnose the details.

My guess would be number ONE. It is a very common cause.  A good diode will run for thousands of hours but some small percentage of them are only able to run a few hours before getting too weak to give a strong reflection off the disc.

Hope this helps.
