Audio Systems - toyota matrix radio display

Expert: Ernesto R - 4/27/2009

Question
I have a 2003 Toyota Matrix with a factory radio/cd player.  I had asked a previous question about the cd player continually ejecting cd's.  You suggested cleaning the laser eye with alcohol.
I removed the radio/cd player, cleaned the laser eye with alcohol and reassembeled it.  My cd player now works fine.  Thanks!  However, now the radio/cd digital display does not display anything... as if the radio were off even though the radio and cd are working.
I have heard of codes that need to be reestablished for the radio to work properly. Or possibly some reset process? Could this be the case?  Or do you think it was something that got disconnected in the disassebly process.

Answer
it looks like to hit the radio or drop it on the table a litle to hard
sometimes clossing the door hard or the glove box hard will burn the radio bulb
it is just a bad bulb
