Audio Systems/no permanent power at my head unit

Question
i just bought an eclipse head deck to go into my toyota camry 1997 model. got the wiring colour of the net and wired it correctly. i soon found out i have no permanent active. the cable that is meant to be the permanent is the (acc) active and the cable that is meant to be (acc) active gets maybe 3 volts down it. so i wired my permanent and (acc) active from my unit to the only cable receiving power my in car. because of this my unit now has no memory. just resets everytime and the lights dont stay on unless my key is on accesories now aswell. all fuses are fine. is there any other accessory in the dash with a permanent active that i can use or any other suggestions on fault finding.

Answer
I don't think you wired it correctly - or it would work properly.

There are three power wires that must be connected:  Ground wire to the ground terminal;  12v constant to the permanent always on connection; remote turn on wire which comes from the ignition acc switch.

So, I think you have the wires reversed.
