Dear Cleggsan,
I currently own a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant GSE with a Infinity 6 cd system. I have a problem when I try to skip to a different song (ex. skipping from track 1 to track 9) it makes terrible sounds as if it is stuck and then ejects my cd saying "error02". If you could help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

It could be either a mechanical cause such as a frictional conflict with the drive motor slider that moves the carriage that transports the optical pickup assembly OR an electrical failure of the servo motor.  

If you know how to pull the unit out, remove the cover and visually watch the mechanism move about as it goes through the track changes you could probably diagnose it by yourself.  Maybe a very stingy drop of machine oil in the right place will solve the problem if it is caused by friction of the moving parts.  Otherwise, I recommend you take it into an installation shop where they can quickly discern the cause and correct it - for a fee, of course.
