Question I have no sound in digital mode. Have digital optical cable plugged to cable box(Video 1) and coaxial cable to dvd player (video 2). Also the display does not show my left or right rear speakers but when checking speaker level balance sound comes from them.

As in the allexperts question above, I am inclined to think the problem of the matter is in setting it up correctly and making sure all the features are programmed correctly.
However, the digital signal coming from the cable box may not be compatible with the Aiwa because of age differences and technology variations. Check with your cable company for the specs on the digital cable box. If not compatible you may need to stay in the anolog domain, I think.
