Audio Systems - Mercury Factory 6 disc trunk system

Question
Hi,
We have a 96 Mercury Sable with the 6 disc changer in the trunk. It was working perfectly until last week when I inserted new discs, started the vehicle and began playing disc 1. Disc1 played and I tried to change to another disc and the discs stopped playing and the LED read "No Disc". I've checked the direction of the cartridge, discs and removed and reinserted many times. Still the same. Is there a way to trouble shoot this? I also tried some compressed air. The cartridge/magazine does not want to eject with the button any longer either. Have to push the button and pry it out....Strangely, yesterday when I slid the cover back the magazine had ejected on its own...Before sending this I decided to re-check. It now ejects just fine, but now the readout says "Bad CD" to all CDs. One of them is brand new and all play in other CD players so the fault is not the discs. Also re-checked direction of disk insertion again just to be sure...

Thank you!

Answer
BAD CD NO CD

THE CD CHANGER WORKS, when you insert a cd magazine full of disc
the unit takes the first one and trys to read the information
and them moves to the next disc.

te problem is that the laser cd is bad and can't read the disc information because of tis the cd changer believes the magazine is empty or the disc is damage

cd changer needs to be replace or replac

good luck
