Question
I have a 2000 ford expedition, and the cd changer is telling me there is "empty mag".  I went as far as buying another cd changer, used, and still get the same message.  This leads me to believe that the problem is not actually with the changer, but rather the stereo.  Any suggestions?

Answer
You have two bad cd changers there is nothing wrong with the stereo or the wiring

for laser inside cd changer only last 5 to 7 years
repair the unit any car audio repair will replace the laser inside

if not buy a new or rebuild unit, with warranty stay away from used units
