Question
I have a 99 ford contour. bought it used. the speakers did not produce sound when I bought it. only one time did i get one speaker to work. havn't since. I was under the impression it was the radio. I put an after market radio in and still no sound. I traced the wires back to an amp. is there a fuse for the amp? am I not getting power to the amp? The radio was in a 98 contour for more than a year and had no problems. any advise would be helpful.

Answer
because the amplifier is so low in the vehicle , it always gets water or soda and gets damage
most likely the amplifier is bad, go to any car audio store and buy the ford amplifier bypass kit
it is only $15.00 and it will let you remove the amplifier and connect the plugs back together

good luck
