Question
i have one 12 inch jl audio sub woofer in my ford ranger and everything worked fine till about 3 days ago and now the only way i can get any sound out of the sub is if i push on it or pull it out i have checked all wiring and fuses and everything else that i can think of tweaked all settings and everything im at a dead end please help

Answer
I would say he voice coil has come loose from the coil form. If so, it will need to be reconed or replaced.

It also possible the lead in wire from the terminal to the spider to the voice coil has melted and has only intermittent connection when stressed by the all in or out movement of the cone.  Either way, the speaker needs reconed or replaced.

A good speaker repair shop can replace the cone and voice coil assembly for around $35 to $50 is my guess.
