Question
I have 2 12' jl w3s with a custom box and I have an audison amp. Everyone i talk to says that at full blast they should be louder and i spoke to some with wisdom about jl subs and he said they are capable of produceing an amazing sound and that it could be my amp. I dont know much about the technical aspect of speakers but I know i have a decent system. My question is what are your thoughts about my situation and what amplifier might be benificial for the sound and my subs? thanks for your time

Answer
Don't know about the w3s, but most of the JL speakers have very low sensitivity.  They are mostly down around 87db which is very low.   What this means is they take big power to get them growling loudly.  You should have a really  big amp on them.  Maybe your Audison is just not giving enough power.
