I feel ignorant, but I just purchased a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder and cannot get the audio on the DVD player to broadcast through the speakers (do not have headphones).  The dvd is playing but no audio.  I pushed the rear AV button on the cd player and no luck.  help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Didn't you get the owners manual with the car?

You can buy one through Nissan or download from on the Internet here:

The above is a big download; 344 pages, so it will take some time to get it all.

Then, go to the section that deals with the radio control systems; starting about page 4-25 (177) or so.

HOWEVER:  If you have an aftermarket DVD player than you must obtain the owners manual for that product.

SO, this should get you on your way. If you have more trouble, let me know.

PS:  You mentioned pushing the AV button on the CD player, but you aforementioned you were playing dvds.  They are different, as you know; CDs will play audio in a dvd player, but dvd discs will not play in cd players.  Maybe that is the problem???
