Audio Systems/Buzzing Vinyl to Phono reciever

Question
I have a new laptop and I connected it to my phono reciever and it was buzzing. Then I took out the powerplug right beside it and then it stopped buzzing. But then for some reason it started back again. If I change my reciever to Cd to play my ipod or laptop there is no buzzing.

Answer
If I'm reading this correctly, you've got your laptop plugged into the phono input on your receiver?

Try a different input. Inputs that are specifically marked "Phono" typically have a preamp built into them (because turntable outputs are very low level signals). It's more than likely causing the buzzing.

If this doesn't work, write me back and we can delve further into this.
