Audio Systems/car stereo system

Question
I have a 2001 Mustang.  My radio works but my 6 dics cd changer and lighting are not working. Disc changer is empty but when I push load button - it says FULL.  When I push eject - I get CD Error.  None of stereo lights work.  The radio plays and the display shows but none of my button lights illuminate.
Can you help?  I was told by auto zone - not a fuse because radio would not play.
thanks

Answer
Perhaps the changer is the problem.  You can find rebuilt changers at places like this:

http://www.oemautosound.com/pc-88-57-ford-rebuild-6-disc-cd-changer-original.asp...

or you could replace the entire radio/stereo system with new products.

Without knowing more about your car and the system that is in it now it is difficult to know how to guide you further.  I suggest you go to this web page and plow through the questions and it will help you know what products are compatible.

www.crutchfield.com

and follow the link "outfit my car".  By answering the questions it will guide you to the system in your car.  Then, if you still need more, let me know the details of your system (For used several different options during that time period in the Mustangs.

I agree it is not a fuse problem, but probably a broken wire or bad connector or something defective internally to the head unit or the changer.

Let me know.
