Audio Systems/kenwood deck install with use of aftermarket plug adapters

Question
I purchased a new kenwood deck to install in my 96 ford f350, I also have a 95 but the receiver plug ins do not match between the 2 years. I can make the deck work in the 95 with aftermarket adapters but when i tried a second time to put it in the 96, I can get it to power, find a station and start playing a cd but all with no sound. The aftermarket adapter kit for the wiring harness fits, the only difference between the 2 trucks is that the 95 was just an am/fm factory deck and the 96 is a factory cd player.
any help would be appreciated, I have books from ford on the wiring harness and it appears to be a premium sound system in the 96 but I am not seeing a 3rd plug that would coming or going to an amp. The speaker harness adapter is a square 8 pin plug.
thanks

Check these out:

With the color codes above maybe you can track down the wiring from the output of the amp outputs to the correct speaker wires for each speaker.

Hope this helps.  Good Luck.
