Audio Systems/Cleaning Vinyl Records

Question
Hello Wayne,

I have a large collection on vinyl records from the sixties and seventies.  Is there any way known to effectively clean these older albums? Is there a device that can help me with this chore?  Thank you for your help.

John D.

Answer
I personally wouldn't really trust a cleaning device on my albums. I generally use alcohol...
I found a good step-by-step that pretty much matches my technique. The difference is that I do it with the record on the turntable set at 16 rpm (not all tables these day go that slow - mine is a bit of a relic)

It does mention getting new sleeves, preferably anti-static plastic ones.

I hope this helps you out!
