Question
Would like to use Aux-in cable connection in my '98 Ford Taurus to set up my xm radio. Can't find any specifics per owners' manual- Would you have any ideas, or would you recommend taking to an installer?

Answer
ford taurus didn't have auxiliary audio input , that is on the new vehicles,

but you can add one, you need the ford wiring for the rcu and the auxiliary audio input interface
this mounts into the rcu that is in your trunk left side behind the carpet

follow this link i have use it in the past and works great
for all taurus and sable

if you have a cd changer  it needs to be unplug or
you have to use this other interface made for taurus and sable but the vehicle needs to have the external cd changer, this auxiliary audio input don't work with out the cd changer

this interface plugs into the cd changer,
good luck

fm modulators don't work on that vehicle, because the antenna is in the trunk don't waste your money truing that, and the tape works but will damage the radio tape in a few weeks
good luck
