Hey i have 97 ford explorer  xlt an im trying to install a ford factory radio modle #yu3f-18c868-aa i was told it  wouldnt work if you can give me any advice bout how to install it  that would be nice thank you

Here is a good installation guide that might help you in deciding and knowing how to hookup the radio that you have.

the radio you refer to is out of the 2001-3 Excursion Ford.  Whether it is compatible or not I don't know, but if the unit has the right outputs, etc. and power connections you should be able to make it work.
