Audio Systems/Head unit doesn't stay powered up.

Question
I just got a JVC KD-S5050 and just wired it up. When I turn the key to get power to the headunit it says, "See-Ya" and then turns back off. But the kicker is that if you hit a button to like check time it'll light up and tell the time but then shut back off. It doesn't power up when you hit the power button or anything. What could fix this problem??

Answer
Check the ignition wire.  Their are two, maybe three 12v connections:  One from battery which stays on all the time, one from ignition which allows turn on when switched on and one for dimming the panel lights inside.

And, of course, if wired correctly the unit may be defective.

Let me know if you need more.
