Audio Systems/Speakers sound problem

Question
Hi, I have a set of stand alone speakers with a remote control that i can plug my Ipod into but all of a sudden the sound does not increase gradually, it jumps straight from quiet to loud, can you advise what is the cause of this?  Many Thanks.

Answer
Check to make sure you have the iPod plugged into the right input; some little speaker/amps have a fixed input and a variable input.  Also, check the iPod to make sure you have it on the variable output setting.

Otherwise, you may have gotten a defective volume control in the unit which will require service or, as in most cases, just replaced as they are quite inexpensive are the not?

Cheers. Let me know if you need more, please.
