i have a 95 jeep grand cherokee i have a KAC-7201 and 2 MTX single voice coil Thunder7104 - Thunder7000, 10" 4 Ohm Subwoofers in a banpass box when its at high volume i can smell the amp overheating the previous amp did the same thing i had both amps bridged the 4 wires are going into 1 + - terminal i also have a sealed box wired the same what am i doing wrong should i wire the subs stereo should the subs not be used with that amp im at a loss please help thanks in advance for any advice you may have

Answer
Not sure how you have the speakers wired, but my first guess is you do not have the impedance matched properly to the amps.  With the speakers in parallel (seems that is what you have) that is placing a 2 ohm load on the amp.

The specs on this amp say that in bridge mode the minimum load should be 4 ohms.

Why to you have the amp in bridge?  You would be better off, power wise and fidelity wise, to put the amp in stereo and have each channel feed one speaker.  That's what may be best and the loading is correct.

Try that and let me know if there is more to the story.
