Question
QUESTION: Hi Ernesto,
I recently tried installing a new stereo to upgrade my factory AM/FM Stereo that came with my truck. I bought the chime harness and the adapter with my stereo was spliced onto that harness. Prior to splicing the wires I plugged the new harness (Scosche GM09SR / GM09SRB) with the chime into the factory harness and the chime worked, but it seemed to fade. I thought nothing of it until I tried plugging the new stereo in. It id not work - no power. I thought I had spliced everything correctly - it seemed cut and dry. So I plugged the factory stereo back in and it was dead also. I checked all the fuses in the fuse box and they were all good. Where do I go from here? I disconnected truck battery to "reset everything. That did not work. I checked all the pin outs on the factory harness and they were all intact. So now both the factory stereo and new stereo do not work... Any idea what to try next?

ANSWER: where did you get the ignition power from ??

QUESTION: I figured it was coming from the factory harness connector where the original factory radio was plugged into. But now neither work when they are plugged into that factory connector. What would you recommend next?

Answer
that is your problem , there is no ignition in the harness you have to find it from the ignition switch or fuse box  that is why the red long wire ( some kits )

there is data on the pink wire,  unplug the battery for 30 minutes to reset the factory radio and or the BCM

good luck
