Audio Systems/matching my amp to some subs

Question
i have a kicker zx750x1 amp and a 2005 dodge quad cab truck. looking for 2 subs. what ohm and watts would be best. looking at kicker cvr 400rmsx800rms 4ohm and cvr800x1600 2 ohm. what type of box sounds best in my trucks backseat.

Answer
Don't give equipment recommendations as there are too many subjective factors involved.

For trucks you are restricted to what you can fit in the empty spaces.  Many use Bazookas because they are easy to install behind the back seats and they belt out pretty good bass.

Kicker brand is good also.

The important thing is make sure the load on the amp meets its technical requirements. If it is rated for a 4 ohm load then you must purchase speaker that can be wired for 4 ohms or more, but not less.  If the amp will handle 2 ohm loads then a 2 ohm speaker will be ok.

Impedance matching is an important matter with car audio in order to keep the amp from getting too hot and going into protection mode all the time (or blowing up).

Speaker selection, aside from matching impedance loading, is purely subjective as to how you like the sound and how well it behaves inside the vehicle (which is impossible to predict; it requires listen testing to know for sure - or experience of others with the same make, model, etc.).

I know you wanted more but that is all I can give you for now.  Send a followup if you want to ask more specific questions.
