Question
I have an Olympic Stereo made by Shelbern Electronics Ltd. Montreal, Canada.  Model #TH39544L, Serial #33-48298.  The sound is really great from AM/FM but cannot try turntable because there is no needle.  Where can I find needles for this model?  Any ideas?  Would love to hear from you.

Answer
There are many places you can purchase needles for your turntable.  The problem is you must know the cartridge being used.  Olympic (made by Shelbern) uses many different kinds of pickups and I could not find any documentation on your model TH39544L.

There are a couple of ways you can go:

Look carefully and find out the make or model of the cartridge mounted in the tonearm and google for that.

In fact you can google these words:  replacement needle for turntable

and you will find several pictures and links to various suppliers.

Another approach is to just purchase a new cartridge - which comes with a new needle in it.  They are not terribly expensive.  They are a little tricky to mount depending on the design of the tone arm.

You can also google for instructions on changing the cartridge and find some serious help with that task.

Hope this gets you along your way.  Let me know if you need more assistance.
