My SONY Trinitron KV-XJ29M80 suddenly just stopped and now the stand-by light blinks twice.What has happened? Is it ill? Is it asking my to give it the last rite? Please let me know.

it is in self-protect mode due to a failure anywhere from the audio circuit, vertical output stage, high voltage section or internal voltage regulator circuits. i'm sorry i can't be more specific, but the way sets protect them selves, you have to have it on a bench, testing the logical culprits before you can find exactly what the problem is. now you need to decide whether or not to put a hundred or so dollars into it at a shop. sonys can be difficult and time consuming.
