Question
QUESTION: So I have a 1996 Avalon XLS, and I'm installing a Sony CDX-GT640UI receiver, and I'm using this wire harness: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-8112-Wiring-Harness-Integration/dp/B0002BEUBW
But after connecting everything, I blew the Audio Fuse which was a 15A, so i replaced it with a 20A, and the stereo turned on when the car ignition was in the off position, but if you turn the ignition to Acc, on, or start the car, the radio turns off. Do you have any ideas as to what might be wrong? Let me know if you have any questions about it for me.

ANSWER: that is the wrong harness, look inside the radio hole and look for a diferent harness
it is a 10 pin plug and a 6 pin plug ,  they are plug to other 6 and 10 that will stay lose
this is the correct harness

QUESTION: Right, but my Avalon has 6 speakers and a factory amp

Answer
all 6 speakers will work, on the other plugs,

your factory radio power is only 1/4 watt per channel
the new radio is most likely 40 watts per channel , all that extra voltage on the speaker output
is going to burn the factory amplifier and it is creating this problem

good luck
