QUESTION: Sorry, I am referring to normal vinyl records but with a picture disc type
holographic gimmicky effect. I was wondering if you know the process behind
this.

ANSWER: Still I am confused as to what you are referring to?  Maybe you are talking about the RCA vinyl video disc technology? OR the JVC VISC system?  Both of these are video picture disc on vinyl material and read by a capacitance probe that rode on the disc and collected the information by holographic patterns.

Here are some of the media extant:

QUESTION: Okay I will attempt to explain. Some records have a gimmick where there is a
holographic picture on the disc. Now I mean artwork, the actual record is a
normal analogue record. Does this clear things up?

Answer
It is not holographic.   That is what threw me off course!

What you are talking about is not true holography but just a form of 3D photography and a sort of interference pattern.

Here is a discussion that is appropriate for the topic:

The phono disc is just a very large version of what they do with the "hologram" on a credit card.

Actually, I have never seen a vinyl lp with this before but I don't see any problem in making them.

Hope this helps.
