Audio Systems/Teac not working

Question
I have a Teac DX32i stereo and suddenly I get no power to the
main unit.  The bass unit comes on and the power light is on,
but no power seems to be flowing from there to the receiver.
any ideas?  Thank you for your help; I am on Allexperts as
well and I do rate.

Answer
ONE:  Wiggle the cord(s) to make sure the power is getting to all places of the set.

TWO:  Unplug power cord and leave unplugged for 1/2 hour.  This will automatically reset internal electronics when powered back up.

THREE:  Tap the unit or jiggle it around while it is ON mode.  This will check for intermittent conditions.  The jiggling will sometimes reactivate a loose connection or cold solder joint inside the works.

FOUR:  If none of the above helps then it is likely the power supply for the main unit has gone bad.  Repair will involve testing to see what has failed. Could be a bad diode rectifier, bad electrolytic cap, crack in the circuit board foils, etc.  Cost of repair may run $100 plus or minus.

Hope this helps.

(PS:  I don't take ratings anymore, but thanks).
