Audio Systems/speaker repair

Question
Hi, I was wondering how to take apart a sealed box on a set of
speakers I have. They're Sony speakers model SS-RG440 and I
need to re-wire them. Thanks.

Answer
Most sealed boxes are entered by removing the bass speaker by taking out the mounting screws and pulling the speaker unit out the front.

It looks, from the photos, that is the right procedure for this box as well. In any event, you can, from visual examination, determine the best approach.  Some of the street machines are almost hermetically sealed and the only way to get in is to break the seal around the speaker units and find out how they are fastened in.  Often there is a decorative trim piece that needs to be popped off to reveal the holding screws or hardware clips.

Good Luck.
