Question
Hi I have a subwoofer that's great but around the 80hz range the londness is much higher than the rest of the bass.So with a 15 band equalizer what band or bands would be the best to decrease so I have a more even bass line.PS on my eq the bass bands are (25hz.40hz,63,and100hz.

Answer
How do you know about the 80 Hz rise?  Have you measured it?  If you are just assuming it to be so from your listening then why don't you adjust the eq settings subjectively until it sounds best? Or still better, just lower the subwoofer level.

Look, it is difficult giving you an objective answer; you did not give model numbers of the equipment, the box the sub is in or the car and how it is mounted - all of which have large effect on subwoofer performance.

Chances are you have a large resonance that is causing the peak which could be from the installation position of the box or from the box design itself.

Since this is a very subjective result you are getting it may be best for you to have an experienced car audio installation expert take a look at your system and make recommendations to you.

But, try this for starters to see if it helps.

ONE: Reduce the level feeding the sub amp by 2 - 3 db.
TWO: Turn down the 63 and 100 Hz eq settings by 2 to 3 db.

Best wishes.
