Question
Do integrated sound systems (on motherboard PC's), have disadvantages over PC's with a sound card?  (I am not sure if this is your area of expertise) Thanks

Answer
I am an expert on everything!

I think the jury is out on that question.

Let me refer you to this series of conversations which is typical of what users and experts would say:

I say it is a matter of convenience and cost - all other things being equal.  Maybe the preference should be based strictly on the specifications of the ones being considered.

And, if your PC was short of resources then the card may be a better choice.

I call it a draw.
