Question
I get no bass from my speakers.  The volume counts backwards with a negative symbol.  I tried different speakers and changed receivers. Both worked great.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

Rodger

Answer
Do you maybe have the subwoofer setting ON?  Are you using a subwoofer?

1.  I don't know the arrangement for this model - it is quite old - but many receivers have a setting for using subwoofer which sends all bass to subwoofer and internal crossovers limit the bass going to the regular speaker connections.  So, check that out.

2.  It is possible the speakers are wired out of phase.  This condition allows the bass to be canceled between the speakers.  It is easily detected by playing only one speaker at a time, then switching the other channel on to see if the bass goes away.  If so; switch the wires at the terminals of the speaker or the amp;  move the plus to minus and the minus wire to plus on only one speaker; not both.

3.  It is possible the bass driver is defective; but that would show up when you connected the speakers to another amp also.

Hope this leads you to the solution you need.

Let me know if there is more to the story.
