Question
Hi:
The problem I have is that only FM stop working.  The part # is a F2VF.  So I got another same radio from E-Bay, this radio has no sound on right side :-(.  I replaced a small capacitor on the board and now makes popping sound when adjusting volume but both sides working.  So I got another radio from E-Bay, but 1 year newer F3VF and no sound at all.  I found one of your answer posted back 11/1/07 that I can't replace 92 radio with newer ones, a compatibility issue.  My question is: Are the pin out on the newer radio different, which an adapter cable would be able resolve or the control signals between the radio are totally different and nothing can be done and get stuck using only the year 92 radio?
Thanks for you time,
Kevin

Answer
the wiring on the radios are the same, if you get a 1993 for radio you need the 1993 jbl amplifier, no the old unit,
but most likely , that radio is also defective, and any used radio from junk yard or abay is going to have the same problems, no fm no am baf audio, left or right channels,
to fix it all the green capacitors need to be replace, every single one, they are all defective,
if you pull them out you will notice that they are all leaking also this acid damage the board and needs to be clean before installing new capacitors
they can be any brand the main problem is where to find small caps ? they are not available, normal size caps will fit but there is no space under the tape deck so you will have to lose the tape
