Audio Systems/Cassette player

Question
I have a 1997 Mercury Sable and a cassette is stuck in the player. The eject button is dead. What is the best way to get it out? I think it may be a drain on the battery.

Answer
I would try a reset and see if that will clear it.

The best way to reset is to disconnect power from the deck or head unit for at least 20 minutes.  Disconnecting power can be done by 1) pull one of the cables off the main car battery, 2) pull the fuse from the line that feeds the deck/head unit or 3) pull the fuse out of the fuse box that feeds the radio/cassette system.  The fuse box is inside under the hood usually near unto the battery compartment and is marked or designated pictorially in your car owners manual.

Hope this helps.
