Question
Dear Sir,
I have the mitsubishi LT-5V and when I turn it on the platter revolves but the arm does not come to the platter.  It makes a fairly loud humming noise. I have not use it for a few years but it was working fine at that time. If you could also direct me to a dealer in my area if it has to be looked at.  My address is Wilmington, NC 28451.  THANKS

If it has been idle for a very long time it is likely the belts or moving parts under the TT have become aged and no longer retaining the friction and tension that is necessary to operate the mechanisms.
