Audio Systems/Speakers

Question
Hello,
I would like to remove the front door speakers on a 2010 Mustang Convertible and replace them with new speakers while moving the original front speakers to the back. Could you briefly describe what needs to be done to accomplish this? Anything specific I need to know? My main concern is getting everything back together again without having any noises or rattling. Thank you for your assistance.

Answer
You must check the mountings and size to make sure the fronts will fit the spaces in the back and that new ones will fit inside the door panels.

The best place to check these dimensions and depths is on crutchfield.com web site. They have all this information available for just about any car ever made.  Go to their main page and click on the "outfit my car" and run it through.  In the end you will find speakers that will fit, adapter plates if you need, etc.  You don't have to purchase from Crutchfield but if you do they generally supply the mounting hardware and instructions on how to install.  They are good.

Also, if you need adapter rings or other apparatus to make the speakers mount air tight go to www.installer.com where you can find many items to help you.
