Question
We hooked up our kenwood record player and you have to have the volume up as loud as possible to hear it. when you switch to cd or radio it is so loud you have to turn it down. How can we get louder sound when listening to a record?

Most likely your turntable has a magnetic cartridge mounted in the tonearm. These kinds of cartridges require extra amplification called a "phono preamp". Years ago, before the CD, all receivers had phono preamps built in. Now days you need a preamp.
You can find them on the Internet. Try google shopping as a start.
