Question
Hello, I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I recently installed an entirely new sound system in my car. However, I don't know how to adjust the setting on everything for optimal performance.
Here is what I have in addition to a crutchfield url to each product.

Amp:

Sub:

Speakers (Front and Rear):
Polk Audio db651s

Receiver/Stereo:

Oh, and the wiring kit is a 4 gauge.
Anyhow any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Answer
It is a simple matter.  Balance the speakers for equal sound loudness.  You can do this by ear and set the controls accordingly.

Then, bring up the sub until it sounds the best for you; play a cd or tape or radio with some good sustained bass music passages so that you can get a good balanced sound.  You are setting it for your own ears; what sounds good to you is what you should settle one.  Generally, I find that balancing the settings is best by using program sources such as organ music, female vocal, male vocal and jazz music.  It takes a series of listening cycles to get it right but it is worth the trial and error procedures..

Best wishes.
