Expert: Cleggsan - 1/22/2012

Question
I play on a field sport.  We are looking for a speaker to play during practices, games, etc.  In the past, we have used the "ION Block Rocker Battery Powered Speaker System for iPod" but have had problems with it.  The battery stopped working and the handle snapped within about a week of getting it and the ipod connection has always been finicky.  Do you have any other suggestions of a loud stereo to be used outside?  I also live in Oregon where it rains quite a bit so something with a bit of weatherproofing would be ideal. Any suggestions?

It is very difficult for me to image what your unique needs might be so I cannot give you a specific recommendation; you must do some study and research, maybe speak with a sales person at a few places and make the decision on your wants, budget and needs.  A good music store, yes, music store may be a place where you can check a few different ones out.  Before starting your effort let me suggest you go to google and click on the "shopping" link then search for "battery operated portable pa system" and you will find a large listing to think about.  I like the Roland brand a lot because they are very professionally designed.  Those PYLE units are good, too, but they may not put out enough audio power for you.
