Audio Systems/q about hdmi to bose

Question
hi.  i am learning about these things. i am a movie buff who is getting a new projector- the hd20 with 1080p. anyway, it has an hdmi output. i have a bluray player also with an hdmi port.

i am thinking of getting the bose 161 speakers. so since both HD information as well as sound is transfered along the hdmi cable, will the sound be compromised, since these bose speakers don't have an hdmi port, or does it not work that way?

actually, a side question: so i plug my bluray player to my projector with hdmi, and the bose to the bluray player with it's cables, right?

i guess i've answered my own questions, but if you think i should be aware of anything else, please let me know. thanks.

Answer
Since the Bose system you're looking at only handles stereo, you will not be able to take advantage of the full surround audio that's available with BluRay. You should be able to connect them directly to the BluRay player however.

I'n my personal opinion, I'd avoid the Bose products altogether (I have personal and professional reasons for this that I can elaborate on if you wish).
You may want to consider a smaller surround system (you can put together an excellent sounding 5.1 surround for around $200).
