Question
QUESTION: I have been having trouble finding a good set of wireless headphones for listening to music. In particular I need something that offers good sound quality, a good effective range, and more than just a USB port input. More than likely I will not be using these for console gaming. Just CD player or PC audio. I am not sure if a gaming headphones is too different from someone that is designed for music. Can you make some recommendations because I am lost.

ANSWER: Well, sorry to say, I don't make equipment recommendations, per se, because there are so many subjective factors involved in choosing electronic products.

In your case you want to get a set that is connected to via analog audio cables (rca red and white pair).  You want to focus on sound quality and comfort of the headphones against the ear and fit around the head.

My suggestion is to go to amazon or bestbuy or walmart and pull up their wireless headphone listings and read down through the rating comments.  Then, choose a couple of models that seem to be good choices and find a store that can demostrate them - or at least has a return policy if you don't like them.

I bot a pair over the Internet last year for $10 - because they were cheap - and they turned out to be very good except for they used up batteries quite fast.....  But, expect to pay more than that!

Hoping this helps you make a good choice.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I just figured that many of the gaming units might not produce the best quality audio and have a microphone, which I won't need. I just want to be able to broadcast either from a standard portable CD player jack, or through my PC (either USB or speaker output). I'd like to hear music from my computer (or sports audio) when I am in a different room. Or just a CD either from my computer or from a CD player. Do you know if there is a brand that specializes more in sound quality than gaming headphones? I know this is all fairly new technology, but I don't know anyone who knows much about it, or how I can set parameters when doing an online search.

Answer
The list is long.  Just go to google.com and at the top hit "shopping" and enter in "wireless headphones" and Eureka!  you have found a long list to choose from.

(PS: It is not new technology; they have been around for a long time.)

Happy Hunting!
