Audio Systems/HK775 Mono Block Amps

I am considering purchasing a pair of HK775's and wanted them to power a small studio vocal system using an analogue mixing board, effects, compression & eq through a pair of Klipsch Heresy II's. The power will be sufficient. My question is are these amps known for producing a clean signal? The price is remarkable I am hoping they will offer clarity & very low noise. I realize the application is a little unusual but was hoping they would provide a reliable substitute to more expensive pro studio amps. Thank you for considering my query, Joel

Hi Joel,

While I've not had personal experience with this particular mono block, as long as you've got plenty of headroom in your amp/speaker combination, I'd say you should be fine.

The best advice I can give you is to calibrate your system with some reference material that you know very well - a favorite CD or DVD (with no FX online). Things like clarity can be subjective at times, so just go for a sound that is pleasing to you. You have to realize that the "mid-range" mono block amps in the modern consumer market would be considered "pro" a couple of decades ago... Harmon Kardon is also a very reputable brand, so I think you'll do well with them.

I hope this helps, and best of luck to you!
