QUESTION: I have a 96 Ford Explorer with a 6 Disc CD Changer. About a year ago, I finally cleaned out the area around the CD Changer , not using any chemicals or water or anything just picking out the junk. Then the CD Changer would take in all the disc and say NO CD. Now last week for the first time I tried to use said CD Changer again and it worked for about an hour then I turned off my car and when I got back in it was saying NO DJ. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem or do I just need to get something new?

ANSWER: if it was a 98 cd changer they can be repair  your unit is a different model made by clarion there are a lot of problems on this unit it will be best to replace it

if you remove the cd changer open the front of the console first and unplug it then remove the coin holder and 4 screws

QUESTION: Do you think that I should buy a whole new radio and everything as that looks to be less expensive that the 300 dollars for a new CD changer, or will I not be able to find anything compatible with my car?

changing the radio is not that easy in this vehicle just the labor is going to be over $200.00  the radio and amplifier in this vehicle are in the back side panel
yes that is correct that unit at front with the tape player  IS NOT A RADIO
so the vehicle needs to be rewire because all the speaker wires are in the back nothing at front
