Question
i have a 2000 Taurus which i just got. I have had a truck which i had a system in since i owned it and i hooked it up myself, i just ran the wiring in the Taurus and got everything hooked up...but when the amp turns on it makes the subs barley hit at all, i  have checked the gain and bass knob which are both turned up and it still barely makes any sound at all...could my power wire be to small? or could it be the amp? If its anything else please let me know

Answer
Hi Colton.
Your power lead should be rated at least 50% over requirement, so if you have a total of 400w amp (4 x 100w) you need a 50 amp cable and fuse directly from the battery, bigger the amp, heavier the cable,
ground directly to the nearest bolt to the amp on the chassis same weight as power cable, (clean surface, not painted), signal wire to 12v amp switching wire on radio, check for blown speakers and shorted cables, you wouldn't be the first to screw a panel down through a twin-flex speaker lead.
Input level to about 75%
Speakers 50% over max amp output, ie 150w per channel = 225w speakers, minimum.
Have fun and I hope I help some, Peter
