Question
Hi, I have a toyota 4runner 2002 with the power radio antenna. I pulled the antenna out and found the plastic in it broke. the antenna motor still works when turning the radio on or off. Needless to say the antenna wont go up or down. I bought the antenna section with the plastic innards. How do I istall it myself, Im mechanically inclined but I dont want to make mistakes. The dealer wants $300. Thank You.

Answer
okay if the plastic part came of and there is nothing inside this can be done have someone inside the car  with the ignition on that is going to turn on and off the radio
remove the top screw/nut of the antenna turn on the radio and in a few seconds when the motor sops feed the antenna in and turn of the radio the motor is going to take the plastic and the antenna  you have to hold the antena and the other person turns on and off the radio untill everything is inside

if a litle plastic is inside you have to take the antenna off the vehcile and take it apart to get that extra piece out
