Question
I have a 1997 Buick LaSabre.  When there is not a tape in the tape deck, the system says there is one and tries to eject a tape.  It even does this when the radio is turned off or on and then will show E 11

there are 'mechanisim state switches' that tell the electronics where the cassette mechanisim is. eject, load, ect. apparantly one or more of these is out of alignment, or just plain bent. it's really not worth the $150 or so it would take to repair it so i would without hesitation, replace it with something better.
