Question
I have a Ford Explorer 2000 - the radio display lcd does not light up anymore.  The radio, cassette and CD work fine but no display.  I have the radio out of the car - is there anything I can do to repair it?

Answer
if you can get it apart enough to see the circuit board of the display, you will probably see bad solder connections on the lamps. personally, i'd visit a junkyard for an exact replacement stereo. if the one you get doesn't work, they'll gladly find you another.
